ECCDC BOARD MEMBERS

Jill Fergison
Jill Fergison

Jill has been involved with Escondido public schools for many years and has served on the ECCDC board since 2020.  As a student, a member of the classified service, and currently as a personnel commissioner.  She fully understands the importance of early childhood education and the boost that early educational experiences give students.  She fully supports the mission of ECCDE to provide a safe, caring, educational space for students while their parents work or continue their own education.

Ryan Fergison
Ryan Fergison

Ryan joined the ECCDC Board of Directors in 2019. Since then, he’s seen many changes in the organization and more involvement from the Board. Although retired now, he comes from a landscape business background that has given him an insight on how things should operate. He is prouder, though, of his dedication to community volunteering over the years. From a volunteer firefighter, a teacher and mentor to his crews, and to a member of Kiwanis and then Rotary, he brings dedication to service. If nothing else, he has learned that humility is a trait that keeps him grounded and focused on the needs of others.

Tamson Sell
Tamson Sell

Tamson grew up in Chula Vista during the 60’s when kids had so much more freedom and young people began to question The Establishment. Her need for adventure took her to Coquitlam, British Columbia where she earned a teaching degree at Simon Frazer University. Not having the courage or selflessness to raise her own children, Tamson spent 20 wonderful years teaching and laughing with her preschool up to 7th grade students. She now lives happily retired in the country in Valley Center with her dogs, chickens, goats, and her dear, long-suffering husband, Chris.

Chris Sell
Chris Sell

Chris was born in west Los Angeles. He lived in Santa Monica and graduated from high school there. He went to Santa Monica City College and received an Associate Arts degree in data processing. He then went to National University to get a bachelor’s degree in teaching. Chris has taught in Oceanside and Valley Center and is now retired.

Throughout her career, Tina has been guided by a deep commitment to improving lives and strengthening the communities she calls home. Before joining Neighborhood Healthcare, Tina spent 15 years at Palomar Health in leadership roles spanning philanthropy, community development, quality, and patient experience—work that consistently centered on access, dignity, and care for those most in need. A longtime member of the Escondido community, Tina has dedicated much of her life to public service. She served 18 years as an elected member of the Escondido Union High School District Board of Education and remains actively engaged as a member and past Chair of the Escondido Chamber of Commerce. Tina is especially passionate about supporting children and families facing the greatest challenges. Her involvement with ECCDC reflects her belief that every child deserves a strong start, compassionate care, and the opportunity to thrive—regardless of circumstance. She is proud to contribute her leadership and heart to an organization that serves some of the community’s most vulnerable children, helping ensure they have access to the education, health, and support they need to succeed.
